You are eligible for this verification process if you hold a valid Canadian trade certificate, license or other credential that is recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario.
To be recognized, a trade certificate, license or credential must meet the legal definition of an ‘authorizing certificate’ under the Ontario Labour Mobility Act, 2009 and must have an equivalent trade match in Ontario.
An equivalent trade match is a designated trade in Ontario which is equivalent to a trade in another province. An equivalent trade has no material differences between the trades’ scope of practice, and includes:
If your credentials are verified through this process, you will not need to complete further training or examination to obtain your Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario.
The cost of a certificate verification is $50 + HST.
