A Tool/Tooling Maker:

  • Reads and interprets complex engineering drawings, bills of material, component and part prints, assembly drawings, tool and part drawings and work documentation
  • Uses conventional and numerically controlled metal cutting machines and specialized equipment
  • Designs, builds and assembles tools, jigs, fixtures, specialized equipment, instruments, models and prototypes
  • Assembles and fits tool and tooling components
  • Conducts final fitting and inspection of tool sub-assemblies and components
  • Conducts final finishing and testing of complex tools and tooling

Tractor-Trailer Commercial Driver

A Tractor-Trailer Commercial Driver operates a tractor-trailer for commercial purposes to transport goods, products and materials across provincial, national and international routes. Specifically, a Tractor-Trailer Commercial Driver:

  • plans and executes driving routes
  • secures cargo and loads to ensure safety and prevent damage
  • inspects equipment, conducts routine vehicle safety checks and reports problems
  • prepares compliance and commercial documentation
  • handles equipment off road and on highways
  • controls vehicle speed, space and road position in all driving conditions
  • practices defensive and courteous driving techniques

Water Well Driller

A Water Well Driller operates a truck-mounted drilling rig and supporting equipment to drill water wells.

Specifically, a Water Well Driller:

  • plans and prepares site locations
  • communicates with co-workers to identify previous job operations, availability of tools, parts, and machinery, scheduling requirements, and any other information needed to complete job
  • mobilizes the drilling rig
  • maintains and repairs drilling equipment
  • sets up and operates rotary drill
  • sets up, operates and maintains other related equipment
  • cuts and welds metal
  • performs well development
  • installs and maintains related systems
  • completes work documentations
  • follows legislative, regulatory, code and other related standards and requirements

Welder

A Welder permanently joins pieces of metal or manufactured parts using metal filler and heat and/or pressure; builds structures and repairs broken or cracked parts according to specifications; and carries out special processes, such as welding studs and brazing. Specifically, a Welder:

  • lays out, cuts, and forms metals to specifications
  • fits sub-assemblies and assemblies together and preparing assemblies for welding
  • uses three major types of welding: arc, gas, and resistance
  • uses various welding and cutting processes to join structural steel and cut metal in vessels, piping and other components
  • fabricates parts, tools, machines and equipment
  • joins parts being manufactured, builds structures and repairs damaged or worn parts
  • controls for quality before, during and after welding

A Retail Meat Cutter prepares meat and poultry for the retail market by:

  • Demonstrating safe working practices and techniques
  • Applying general work practices and merchandising
  • Setting up and operating machinery
  • Performing business practices / customer relations
  • Preparing beef cuts
  • Preparing pork cuts
  • Preparing lamb cuts
  • Preparing veal cuts
  • Preparing poultry cuts
  • Preparing meat for sausage making

Restoration Mason

A Restoration Mason:

  • Prepares mortars
  • Cuts out and fills joints
  • Repairs or resets bricks, stone and terra cotta blocks in ashlar, rubble and brickwork.
  • Drills, grouts and pins fractured stones
  • Resets copings
  • Caries out washing and mechanical or chemical cleaning

Micro Electronics Manufacturer

A Micro Electronics Manufacturer:

  • Operates and monitor process equipment including manual, automatic and semi- automatic manufacturing equipment to produce micro-electronic products
  • Sets up process equipment and adhere to clean room procedures
  • Performs some or all the following tasks with the above mentioned process equipment using micro-electronic manufacturing equipment to spin coat, photo align, develop, etch, measure, implant oxides, sputter, print, test, inspect, measure, dice and bake
  • Identifies and mark/record defective products
  • Collects, record and summarize inspection and test results
  • Operates various testing equipment and tools
  • Compares test results to specifications and take action
  • Maintains detailed and complete process result reports
  • Maintains a product tracking system
  • Participates in continuous process improvement programs

Motive Power Machinist

A Motive Power Machinist:

  • Reconditions and rebuilds internal combustion engines and associated components, power trains, brake system components and suspension system components

Mould Designer

A Mould Designer is able to design all types of moulds by:

  • Demonstrating safe working practices and techniques
  • Reading and interpreting a piece-part drawing
  • Analyzing piece part for mouldability/manufacturability
  • Conveying information to CAD program/system
  • Determining the type of mould
  • Designing layout of mould components/parts
  • Designing sequencing of multi-plate openings
  • Creating a mould/tooling design
  • Detailing and dimensioning the mould/tooling design
  • Finalizing the mould drawing/design
  • Implementing construction of the mould
  • Archiving/maintaining files
