Ontario’s Standards Industry Advisory Committees

Please note:
  • A submission to Skilled Trades Ontario does not mean that you will be selected as a participant in a workshop session. You may be asked to review Ontario’s training or curriculum standards through the online survey.
  • For compulsory trades, participants and survey respondents must hold a valid Certificate of Qualification in Ontario.
  • There are two types of participants for Standards Industry Advisory Committees, formerly known as “workshops/sessions”, as defined below. If you do not match the criteria outlined as an Instructor or Subject Matter Expert/Trade Expert do not complete the process or submit an application to Skilled Trades Ontario. Please be advised that we are looking for individuals with direct experience or certification for the trade/occupation.
    1. Instructors: are active Instructors teaching apprenticeship programs at a designated Training Delivery Agent (TDA) in Ontario.
    2. Subject Matter Experts/Trade Experts*: are defined as someone who is actively working in their “trade/occupation” and is practicing elements of the trades scope of practice.
      • * An employer/sponsor who meets the Subject Matter Expert/Trade Expert criteria will be considered in this participant category.
  • For compulsory trades, you must hold a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification in your trade.
  • This is not a forum to find employment, find a sponsor for apprenticeship, submit a complaint about your trade/employer, find a Training Delivery Agent (TDA), or receive responses to questions about working in Ontario.
Qualifying Questions:
1. Do you live and work in Ontario?(Required)
2. Are you currently actively working in your trade/occupation?(Required)
3. Are you currently an instructor for a designated Training Delivery Agent (TDA)?(Required)

  1. Note: If you do not match the criteria outlined as an Instructor or Subject Matter Expert/Trade Expert do not complete the process or submit an application to Skilled Trades Ontario.
*An industry representative is defined as someone who is actively working “in their trade/occupation”, and is practicing elements of the trades scope of practice. This is inclusive of employers/sponsors who meet this criteria.
