Michael Barnett is the Deputy Registrar and Chief Operating Officer for Skilled Trades Ontario. Before accepting this role in February 2022, Michael spent 8 years as the Director of Apprenticeship for the Province of New Brunswick and served as Chair of the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship.

As a senior executive, Michael has developed considerable experience leading multifaceted high performing organizations with large and varied networks of stakeholders. He believes that partner relations play a crucial role in the development and training of skilled trades professionals.

Fluently bilingual and with a degree in Business, Michael is excited to work with Government and Industry to help all Ontarians overcome barriers to certification as skilled trades professionals.
